Many think the Seahawks need to invest in their running back room, but head coach Mike Macdonald thinks differently.
If you were to take a poll of Seattle Seahawks fans and their feelings about the running back room as it is currently constructed, the results would be fascinating.
With Zach Charbonnet, the default starter, dealing with an ACL injury, and Emanuel Wilson signed to replace Kenneth Walker, those behind the pair don't instill a lot of confidence, do they?
Kenny McIntosh and George Holani make up the room for the defending Super Bowl champs, and many question whether that is enough firepower for Brian Fleury's offense.
We know what Charbonnet can do, especially when in the red zone, but as far as Wilson, McIntosh, and Holani, the trio has been largely depth pieces in their careers.
That is where the trepidation stems from, as many are unsure of the Seahawks' approach to what was a key part of their success last season.

But if you are truly worried about the Seahawks' rushing attack in 2026, what head coach Mike Macdonald stated at the annual NFL league meeting might cause you to exhale, even slightly.
"Well, we have, you know, Kenny Mac and Zach are gonna be rehabbing, like, crazy, trying to get back," Macdonald said via NFL.com. "You know, we're gonna be aggressive with that as best we can, but we're also gonna be as smart as we can to take care of them. So, when they're ready to go, they're ready to go.
"I think what you saw from George Holani in the offseason, or really at the end of the season, Super Bowl, NFC championship, the guy played great football, as he did before, he got hurt, you know, at the beginning of the season.
"So, we're always looking to make our team, you know, take the next step, but the guys we're having the building were excited for, and I'm pretty sure it's Zach Charbonnet scored, like, 14 touchdowns last year, so it was pretty good."
So the panic meter is reading zero from Macdonald here.
Granted, he knows these players better than anyone else, but there is someone he left out, and that's Wilson.
Signed from the Green Bay Packers, Wilson has been a backup for most of his career, and he adds another body to the running back room. Of course, there are some who think he won't make the final roster, but right now, you could make the case he's got as good a shot as anyone.
Still, the run game feels like it is missing something.
We know Najee Harris visited the Seahawks, so he is one to keep an eye on.
But Seattle can't go into 2026 with the running back room as it is currently constructed, can it?
Well, Macdonald appears perfectly fine with its current makeup.
