The Seahawks are set to begin training camp, but will Charbonnet be participating?
The Seattle Seahawks will begin training camp with a couple of players already on the PUP list for Mike Macdonald.
Nick Emmanwori, Kenny McIntosh, and Tyrone Broden will all start the preparations for the new season on the list, but it is worth noting that at any time during camp, players can come off that list.
And for Seahawks fans, that is good news, because the franchise has added another player to the PUP list, and that's running back Zach Charbonnet.
Having torn his ACL in the playoffs last season, Charbonnet isn't expected back until at least the middle of the season per reports, so it makes sense he begins camp on the sidelines.
Likely to be a slow burn throughout camp, Charbonnet won't be rushed back onto the field, and like others on the list, he can come off it anytime, but I wouldn't hold my breath for that to happen anytime soon.
And while having Charbonnet out isn't great for the Seahawks, as with Kenneth Walker now with the Kansas City Chiefs, there is no bona fide starter, but it does create opportunities for others.
The likes of Emanuel Wilson, George Holani, and Jadarian Price will all get their turn in the sun over the next month or so to push their case to have a big role in Brian Fleury's offense.
Of course, once Charbonnet is healthy, it is expected that he will be the starter, with the rest serving as a running back by committee.
But we will get a good look at Price, who many experts prior to the draft stated that they believe can be a starter in the league, despite backing up Jeremiyah Love at Notre Dame.
Others in Wilson and Holani have been nothing more than backups in their careers, so this also presents a chance for them to show Macdonald and Fleury that they deserve reps once the regular season rolls around.
Injuries are never good, but what they do is create opportunities for others, and it will be interesting to see who takes their chances over the next month or so.
But for Seahawks fans who were holding out some hope that Charbonnet would get in some work, he won't for a while yet.
