Darnold has worked closely with the offense this offseason, and one player has stood out to him.

Sam Darnold is into his second offseason with the Seattle Seahawks, and there are a lot of differences compared to last year.

Mainly Brian Fleury as the offensive coordinator, but so too some personnel.

With Kenneth Walker now with the Kansas City Chiefs, the Seahawks drafted Jadarian Price in the first round to be Darnold's weapon, and this offseason, the rookie has been as advertised.

Given Fleury's background in San Francisco, most are under the assumption that Seattle's backs will be used as pass-catching weapons too, and in camp, we saw a lot of that.

For Price, he dealt with some injury issues, but now he is back in the fold and ready to roll, and Darnold, when asked about the rookie, gave him a glowing endorsement.

"He's a special player," Darnold said. "He's a really special player. He brings a different facet to the offense that only a guy like him can bring. Whether it's catching passes out of the backfield, catching screens, running in between the tackles, outside the tackles, he can really do it all. I know he's just going to continue to get better and learn."

With Zach Charbonnet out with an ACL injury, Price is looming as the starter for Fleury until Zach returns.

Prior to the draft, many experts believed that Price was a starter in the league, even though he played behind Jeremiyah Love at Notre Dame, and his performances in camp proved that.

Of course, doing it in practice and then doing it with real bullets flying is another thing entirely, and we aren't sure if we will see Jadarian in any of Seattle's two remaining preseason games.

Otherwise, we have to wait until Week 1 against the New England Patriots to see this "special player" in action.

Many were unsure of what to make of the Seahawks' running back room once Walker moved on, but right now, it appears to be in good shape.

With Price leading it, alongside George Holani, there is a good vibe around what they could produce as the Seahawks wait for Charbonnet to get fully healthy.

And with Darnold calling Price a special player, maybe all of the doubts are for nothing, because Jadarian could prove to be the exact player the Seahawks expected him to be.

Which is the leader of the running back room.
