Seahawks' Sam Darnold Ready For 'Really Good' 49ers Challenge

The Seattle Seahawks will welcome the 4-0 San Francisco 49ers to Lumen Field on Sunday in an afternoon kickoff as head coach Mike Macdonald's team looks to make a statement in the division.

With Seattle at 3-1, a win could potentially see Macdonald's team move to the top of the NFC West standings, but this San Francisco team has started the season shot out of a cannon.

While the Seahawks are 3-1, we haven't seen them put together a full four-quarter performance, and what better time than when your division rival comes to town?

But to do that, you need to have a good week of practice to get yourself in the right frame of mind, and for Sam Darnold, that is exactly what the team has done.

"Yeah, these last couple days, stacking some good days together," Darnold said. "Obviously preparing for a really good 49ers team. So, just doing everything that we can to prepare ourselves for Sunday and putting us in the best position."

And if the Seahawks are to hand the 49ers their first loss of the new season, running back Emanuel Wilson is going to need to have a say in proceedings.

Coming off an 81-yard, 1 TD game against the Los Angeles Chargers, it is clear that with Jadarian Price out, Wilson is Seattle's RB1, and he's producing like one.

Seen as a mere squad player when he was signed this offseason, Wilson has proved a lot of people wrong, and for Darnold, he's loved everything Wilson has brought to the table.

"Yeah, Eman's been great," Darnold added. "He's just really mature. That's I think that's the best way to say it. He attacks every single day as its own and he's never too high, never too low.

"If he's not sure about what to do, he's always asking questions, asking the right questions. He's a really good leader for that group."

So, the Seahawks have it all in front of them in this Week 5 showdown against a hated rival from inside the NFC West.

A division opponent who is undefeated, they are at home, and is coming off a win that was desperately needed.

Now to hand the 49ers their first loss of the season.
