Anthony Bradford is thought to be on thin ice as the starter at right guard, but the veteran isn't going down without a fight.
The NFL offseason can be an unforgiving beast, and for Seattle Seahawks right guard Anthony Bradford, he's about to be in the battle for the starting job.
After an up-and-down 2025 season that saw Bradford struggle in pass protection, some think that the veteran could lose his place along the offensive line.
Granted, this is all a projection, but rookie guard Beau Stephens has been the one who many think will not only push Bradford for the starting role at right guard but also eventually usurp him to protect Sam Darnold full-time.
Of course, this will be a closely watched battle as the offseason workouts resume and training camp begins, but right now, there seems to be a tide of momentum that will make Stephens the starter at some point in 2026.
Well, I'm not sure if Bradford has heard all of this noise or not, but according to ESPN's Brady Henderson, the veteran has been putting in the work this offseason to improve.
"The early returns are encouraging," Henderson wrote. "Bradford went to Frisco, Texas, after the Super Bowl to train with offensive line guru Duke Manyweather, and the word from inside the Virginia Mason Athletic Center is that he showed up for the start of the offseason program in good shape.
"In one of the four trades the Seahawks made during the draft, they moved into the fifth round to take Stephens, surprised he was still available that late. He should push for the starting job, but Bradford still looks like the favorite."
Entering his fourth season, Bradford is coming off the only year that he's started every game, while also playing in every playoff game en route to winning the Super Bowl.
So, it isn't like Stephens is about to walk all over Bradford to claim the starting role; he'll have to prove without a shadow of a doubt that he is capable of not only being better than Bradford but that he can play at a higher level as well.
Training camp looms as the big test for both, as we will be able to gauge exactly where each sits in the pecking order.
Bradford should and likely will get first crack at the starting role in Fleury's offense, but time will tell if he's good enough to hold onto it.
