The Seattle Seahawks will play in Super Bowl LX on Sunday, February 8 against the New England Patriots. This is their first appearance in the big game since the end of the 2014 season, where they also went up against the Pats.
That did not end how they would have wanted, and they will be looking to get revenge this time around.
But whatever the outcome of the Super Bowl is, it is undeniable how good of a season the Seahawks have had up to this point.
In a recent article by Bleacher Report's Brad Gagnon, he gives every NFL team a grade based on the season they had in 2025. And for Seattle, he gives them the most obvious A+ on the list.
"Seattle is now up to 8-2 against teams with winning records this season, which really drives home how legitimate this Super Bowl favorite is," Gagnon writes. "Mike Macdonald's defense has been so much greater than the sum of its parts, and the Sam Darnold-Jaxon Smith-Njigba connection has often been unstoppable. It takes something special for a team to cruise to the Super Bowl despite a second-to-league-worst 28 turnovers. Seattle's three losses this year have come by a grand total of nine points, with two of them coming in the first five weeks of the season."
The 14-3 record Seattle finished with is their best in franchise history, and their three losses were all to respectable opponents.
They lost to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 5 when Baker Mayfield was playing like an MVP, and the Los Angeles Rams in Week 11, who are obviously always a touch matchup.
But after that loss in Week 11, the Seahawks won seven games in a row to end the season and clinch the NFC West for the first time since 2020.
Not only has the team had a fantastic season as a whole, but some of their players have been spectacular as well in their own right.
Superstar wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njiba broke the franchise record for receptions and receiving yards in a season, and he could win Offensive Player of the Year as a result. And quarterback Sam Darnold has continued to defy all of the haters and prove that he can absolutely be a franchise guy.
All of this adds up to one of the most formidable teams to come out of the NFC in recent memory, and they will get the chance to win their first Super Bowl since 2014 in just over a week's time.
