Given that the Seahawks weren't exactly players this offseason in bringing in new talent, it means focus has to turn to other areas.
For a Super Bowl champion, the offseason has been rather quiet for the Seattle Seahawks.
The only big changes have been Kenneth Walker moving to the Kansas City Chiefs and Brian Fleury replacing Klint Kubiak as offensive coordinator.
All other moves were neither here nor there for the Seahawks as the franchise prioritized retaining its key players, instead of going out and getting stars.
One roster concern is at running back, with rookie Jadarian Price set to be the starter at least for the early portion of the season, thanks to Zach Charbonnet recovering from his ACL injury.
Given that the Seahawks haven't made many moves this season, the roster appears rather settled, and continuity is underrated, in my opinion.
But which move could be seen to have the biggest impact on Seattle in 2026?
ESPN's Brady Henderson thinks the hiring of Fleury.
"Seahawks' hiring Brian Fleury as offensive coordinator," Henderson wrote. "Continuity was an obvious selling point. The longtime 49ers assistant isn't bringing a new offense with him to Seattle so much as he's putting his own touches on what the Seahawks ran in their lone season under Kubiak, who's also from the Shanahan coaching tree.
"A college quarterback, Fleury has also coached defense and special teams along with a two-year stint in football research. But this will be his first time calling offensive plays. Can he mitigate the growing pains?"
There will be question marks over Fleury as a play-caller until we actually see him do it during the regular season, but as Henderson stated, he's been around football a long time.
With Seahawks players loving that Fleury has kept most of the scheme and verbiage the same, with a few new wrinkles thrown in, it has made the transition easy on the group.
Time will tell if that will translate into wins, but Fleury does have some nice weapons at his disposal.
We know what we are going to get from Mike Macdonald and the defense, but can Fleury and the offense make sure the defense doesn't have to do all the heavy lifting?
If it can, then we might look back on the hiring of Fleury as the move that made the biggest impact for Seattle.
