Some have predicted a "mass exodus,'' as after winning the Super Bowl in a dominant performance, an assortment of Seattle Seahawks have earned the right to seek massive paydays in NFL free agency, which opens up this week.
But GM John Schneider's not gonna lose 'em all ... right?
Right?
With free agency looming, guys like Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker, Riq Woolen, Boye Mafe, Rashid Shaheed and Josh Jobe are eligible to move.
The departure of running back Walker seems inevitable. With others, like Woolen, maybe it's time for a change.
But Jobe? To some experts, he's very much seen as a keeper.
Jobe came here as an undrafted cornerback out of Alabama and spend some time with the Super Bowl Eagles.
But the Seahawks saw him as a starter.
And now?
According to former NFL QB Brock Huard on Seattle Sports’ “Brock and Salk” on Tuesday, Jobe is one of the most likely free agents to stick here.
“I think he’s the most likely, (especially if) those two sides both recognize this is the best fit for me,” Huard said in his Seahawks analysis. “He’s a guy that’s been a lot of other places collegiately and professionally. He’s seen the other side and knows what he has here. They signed him last year when there was not that much of a market for him.
"So yeah, I think he would be the most likely.”
Early in 2025, coach Mike Macdonald spoke about Jobe's work.
Said Macdonald: “He’s tough, physical. ... Deserves a lot of credit. I’m happy for him. All this guy does is work and try to pay attention to detail and prepare. Doesn’t have a lot to say for it, which is cool; that’s his personality. He’s playing really good football right now.”
That was then. This is a new "right now.'' And Seahawks fans surely hope Jobe can find a way to make things match financially with the Seahawks.
