The Seahawks are in action for the final time before the regular season begins, but who is playing and who isn't?
The final preseason game is upon us as the Seattle Seahawks face the Kansas City Chiefs in what is the last chance for players looking to earn a roster spot to impress the coaching staff.
But who is going to be taking the field and who isn't?
Well, we know that Mike Macdonald won't be playing the starters, as he hasn't all preseason, and that list now includes Jadarian Price, per the News Tribune's Gregg Bell.
Also, given the injuries at running back with Zach Charbonnet and Emanuel Wilson, coupled with Price and George Holani sitting out, it is likely Velus Jones Jr. will again get some burn against the Chiefs.
The big news is that Jalen Milroe will be the Seahawks' quarterback, and he will be at the helm for the entire game.
Drew Lock will reportedly be dressed, but won't feature.
This gives Milroe a proper runway against the Chiefs to get into a groove at the position and make it feel like a normal game.
Having been in and out against the Dallas Cowboys in the first preseason game, to then playing a half in the loss to the Tennessee Titans, Milroe will now get a full game to improve on what has been a pretty poor preseason to date.
In total, 22 starters won't be seen against the Chiefs, so we will get a really good look at the second, third, and fourth-string players on the Seahawks roster.
Another big slice of news is that the newly signed Trevon Diggs will be suiting up against the Chiefs as the former All-Pro looks to get in some snaps ahead of the regular season.
Having been in the wilderness for most of the offseason, the Seahawks gave Diggs a lifeline, and he is now working back to full "football" fitness. While it isn't known how much game time he'll have, any snaps in a proper football setting will only be beneficial to the corner.
Receiver Tory Horton also won't suit up, with the injury bug hanging around the young weapon.
So, it will be a true evaluation of the bottom of the roster for Seattle, as the coaching staff will get a good look at everyone on the roster as cuts loom in a few days.
