Here are three of the biggest X-Factors for the Pittsburgh Steelers to win this week against the Colts.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will be hosting the Indianapolis Colts this week, looking to improve their record to 3-2 on the season.
Pittsburgh suffered a tough loss last week to the Cleveland Browns on Thursday Night Football, giving this team some extra time to recover and prepare for the Colts. The Steelers know that they will need a better showing against the Colts than they had against Cleveland if they want to come away with the win.
Indianapolis enters this game with a record of 2-2 on the year, with them having won two straight games. After a slow start to the season, the Colts have found some footing, and they will look to keep it going against Pittsburgh.
Here are three of the biggest X-Factors for the Steelers to take down the Colts this week:
1. Aaron Rodgers Turns Back the Clock Again
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, like the entire Steelers offense, has been a little inconsistent to open the season. Some weeks he looks great, whole others, he looks like the 42 year old quarterback that he is.
For the Steelers to beat the Colts, Rodgers will need to put together another strong outing at home. For the season, the veteran has thrown for 999 yards with seven touchdowns and four interceptions.
2. Keep Feeding Roman Wilson
One way to help Rodgers is by making sure that wide receiver Roman Wilson is centered in the game plan. Wilson, the Steelers' third-round pick from a few years ago, has finally emerged as a legitimate weapon for this team.
Over the last few weeks, Wilson has given Rodgers a true weapon to throw the ball to, helping to open the entire offensive attack up. For the year, Wilson has caught 14 passes for 188 yards and two touchdowns, giving Pittsburgh more to work with offensively.
3. Contain Jonathan Taylor
The Colts' entire offensive system revolves around running back Jonathan Taylor, and the Steelers will come into the game understanding this fully. Taylor is one of the best running backs in the entire league, having rushed for 353 yards and six touchdowns already this season.
If the Steelers want any chance to win this game against Indianapolis, the defense is going to have to step up to contain the star in some way. This will be much easier said than done, but it could determine the entire outcome of the game.
