The Steelers have needed everything that they can get from Aaron Rodgers this season.
The Pittsburgh Steelers were able to come away with a massive victory on Sunday over its AFC North rivals, the Cleveland Browns.
Pittsburgh won the game 27-6, with the team dominating the Browns from the opening kickoff at home. The Steelers now sit with a record of 6-2 on the season, with the group sitting atop the AFC North by themselves.
2026 has been an interesting year for the Steelers, with the team not being overly dominating in the wins, other than this past week. But the team is in a good spot to win the division, but Pittsburgh understands that there is still a lot of the season left to go.
The Steelers are led by veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who has played pretty well for most of the season. Overall, Rodgers has thrown for 1,871 yards with 13 touchdowns and six interceptions on the year.
Against the Browns, Rodgers was pretty ineffective, with the Cleveland defense getting to him. The Pittsburgh offense, other than the running game, was somewhat limited in what it could do in this game, even with the blowout win over the Browns.
After the slate of games, NFL analyst Brent Sobleski of Bleacher Report handed out letter grades for each quarterback around the league. For Rodgers, he was given a grade of "C" despite the Steelers grabbing the big win this week.
The veteran finished the game throwing for 172 yards and an interception, continuing some concerns around the offense. Pittsburgh couldn't get a ton going offensively against the Browns, but Rodgers was able to make enough plays to win the game.
After the game ended, Rodgers even admitted that the offense should have scored more points, putting the blame on his unit. Rodgers credited the defense and special teams for helping to get the win, while saying that his offense needs to be more complete going forward.
The Steelers will now enter into a much-needed bye week, giving this team a chance to get some rest. With them sitting at 6-2 through the first eight games of the season, Pittsburgh has to feel very good about the season.
After the bye week, the Steelers will be heading out on the road to take on the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday Night Football. Cincinnati sits right behind the Steelers in the AFC North, with Pittsburgh holding the head-to-head right now from a victory earlier in the year.
