Aaron Rodgers has Pittsburgh rolling right now.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are entering into their bye, following a massive win at home over the Cleveland Browns this week.
From the opening kickoff, the Steelers proved that they were the better team, shutting down any hope of a Cleveland win. Pittsburgh was able to generate strong play from both sides of the ball, giving the Browns all sorts of problems throughout the game.
The Steelers are currently 6-2 on the season, sitting in first place In the AFC North by themselves. Pittsburgh has won four straight games now, with the offense finally looking like it has put things together.
Much of this has been due to the leadership and play from veteran Aaron Rodgers, who has allowed this group to grow all season. So far this year, Rodgers has thrown for 1,871 yards with 13 touchdowns and six interceptions, while completing 60.8 percent of his passes.
Rodgers' play this season has gotten noticed by a lot of people around the league, with legendary quarterback Tom Brady taking note. Brady had many battles against Rodgers during his playing career, and he understands just how special of a talent the Steelers signal-caller can be.
The area that Brady has loved from Rodgers this season has been his aggressiveness in the passing game, which is something that the veteran has done all thoughout his NFL career.
Due to his age, Rodgers has been forced to be more of a pocket passer, rather than someone who can escape to extend plays, and this is one part of his game that Brady believes the Steelers quarterback has gotten better at.
Rodgers is a key player for the Steelers as the year moves forward, and if he can keep up this level of play, the team could have a special season. The veteran has been working with multiple different pass-catchers this season, and he has made it work well.
The Steelers have needed someone like Rodgers to command the offense this year, and the veteran has taken the reigns well. Due to the way that Rodgers has played this season, Pittsburgh could be able to matchup well with the other elite teams in the AFC.
Rodgers offers them a chance to win each time out, which most teams around the league can't say about their quarterbacks. Pittsburgh has its eyes set on going after a Super Bowl title with the veteran signal-caller, and there seems to be some momentum toward them contending for it.
