As trade rumors swirl around Philadelphia’s star receiver, an NFL insider suggests a rival franchise is plotting a blockbuster move to bring the playmaker back to Tennessee's division.

It's been four years since the Tennessee Titans traded A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles.

That infamous trade in the 2022 NFL Draft set the franchise back further than people initially thought. The Titans drafted Treylon Burks out of Arkansas with the pick they got from the trade, who was never able to play a full season and is now with the Washington Commanders.

Brown has had over 1,000 receiving yards each year since joining the Eagles. Regardless of the past outbursts Brown has had about his targets, it's clear the Titans lost that trade by a mile.

This offseason, there have been rumors that the Eagles are looking to trade Brown. While the door may shut on a return to the Titans, NFL Insider James Palmer thinks that he could be back in the AFC South soon.

Palmer appeared on a recent edition of the "Up & Adams Show," and suggested that the Jacksonville Jaguars could be interested in trading for the veteran receiver.

“I think Jacksonville, there’s been, like, is Brian Thomas Jr. available? He’s not available. Is he available?” Palmer said. “I’ve heard both behind closed doors, out in the open. Are they going to make some moves in terms of how that wide receiver room is built? If Travis Hunter is not going to be playing receiver as much, like, do you want to go and make a big splash?” “James Gladstone down there is like, he’s kind of like (LA Rams GM) Les Sneed, where you have to have him sit on his hands. He’s always looking to do something big. He’s always looking to try to make a move. At (last season’s trade) deadline, he was trying to make some things happen, and I mean big things. They didn’t happen, (but) I wouldn’t put anything past James Gladstone down there in Jacksonville.”

If a trade for Brown would take place, Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman could wait until June 1 at the latest.

If the Jaguars decide to move Brian Thomas Jr., as Palmer believes, they could absolutely be in the market for another receiver. Plus, there's no guarantee on how much Travis Hunter will be playing at receiver in 2026.

After trying to spend time at both receiver and corner, he suffered a season-ending knee injury and only played in seven games. Even when he was on the field, he wasn't very productive.

Hunter recorded 298 receiving yards and one touchdown. As a corner, he had 15 total tackles. He could benefit from committing to one position, which is another reason Jacksonville could bring in a player like Brown.

For the Titans, this means they would be seeing Brown twice a year if the move happens.

It didn't take long for Brown to make his feelings about the Titans known after that trade. The Titans played the Eagles in 2022 at Lincoln Financial Field and lost 35-10. Brown scored twice and had 119 receiving yards in that game.

After his first touchdown, he hit the goalpost with a towel, later revealing that was how he felt about the Titans.

"I'm gonna have to give you this whoopin', but I still love you, though" Brown said.

After many years have passed since that trade by former Titans GM Jon Robinson, Brown could be back in the AFC South sooner rather than later.
