Despite a quiet preseason, Tennessee’s breakout wideout remains a betting favorite. Discover why oddsmakers believe his viral practice highlights will translate into a dominant rookie campaign.

The Tennessee Titans didn't use Carnell Tate very much in the preseason despite all the hype he's gotten this year.

Tate has been all over social media this year with his various one-handed catches, which he's continued to practice this summer.

Then, in the preseason, he was only getting a couple of designed plays thrown his way in the first half. It was confusing until Robert Saleh explained it.

He shared that the Titans weren't even running the offense to its full capacity, which makes sense. Running a very vanilla offense doesn't really make it easy for Tate to make plays.

The lack of targets in the preseason was concerning, but it's understandable given Saleh's desire to evaluate other players, knowing that Tate will be one of the Titans' starters this year.

Tate didn't show us much in the preseason, but he's still receiving plenty of attention. This includes his odds of taking him some hardware.

The odds for Offensive Rookie of the Year are out ahead of Week 1. Tate is in the top five, coming in with the second-best odds at +600 on DraftKings Sportsbook.

The favorite so far is Arizona Cardinals running back Jeremiyah Love at +550. Seattle Seahawks running back Jadarian Price is in third at +650. Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Fernando Mendoza is fourth at +750, and San Francisco 49ers receiver De'Zhaun Stribling is on the rise in fifth, with odds of +1000.

The Titans saw firsthand how good Stribling has looked so far. He owned his matchup with Cor'Dale Flott in the first preseason game. Stribling led the 49ers with 63 receiving yards on seven receptions, averaging nine yards per catch.

Stribling had 109 combined receiving yards from the two preseason games he played in.

For Love, he was connected to the Titans in the offseason ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft. It became clear that the Titans were planning to take the best player available after what General Manager Mike Borgonzi said at the NFL Owners Meeting.

All roads seemed to point to the Titans taking Love until the Cardinals drafted him at No. 3 overall just before the No. 4 pick.

Price hasn't received as much attention as Love has, but they were teammates at Notre Dame. He was sidelined for most of the preseason with a lower back injury.

This should be a fun race to watch throughout the regular season. We'll see if Tate's offseason playmaking can translate to the regular season.
