Beyond his Pro Bowl special teams dominance, the rookie speedster’s ability to create separation in the slot positions him as a lethal long-term heir to Tennessee's receiving corps.

The Tennessee Titans drafted exciting prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The most obvious is clearly quarterback Cam Ward, whom the Titans took No. 1 overall. He showed plenty of potential as a rookie and could have what it takes to be the franchise quarterback for years to come.

The Titans also selected receivers Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor, as well as Texas tight end Gunnar Helm, who proved he is a legit downfield threat.

Dike exceeded expectations for his rookie season.

He has a lot of promise as a receiver with his lightning-quick speed. Where he really stood was as a return specialist. Dike made the Pro Bowl after recording two punt return touchdowns and leading the league in all-purpose yards (2,427).

Even with players like Dike and Ayomanor in the receiver room, the Titans knew Ward needed some help. Outside of those two, Ward's main receivers were Calvin Ridley, Van Jefferson and Tyler Lockett.

General Manager Mike Borgonzi brought in former New York Giants receiver Wan'Dale Robinson in free agency and drafted Ohio State receiver Carnell Tate in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Robinson is an experienced slot receiver, and Tate is expected to be the No. 1 WR for the Titans this season.

It's tough to see where Dike fits in the receiver room now that there are more experienced players ahead of him. As it stands, Dike is projected to be a reserve wideout.

However, Drew Beatty highlighted on X how Dike could very well be the Titans' slot receiver of the future, and I would have to agree.

Dike was able to create space between himself and the nearest corner numerous times throughout his rookie season when he lined up in the slot.

Unfortunately for Dike, it's hard to compete with Robinson, who has multiple years of starting as a slot receiver in the NFL, compared to someone who just entered the league last year.

However, Dike is well-positioned to be the next man up if the Titans decide to move on from Robinson after his contract expires in 2030.

Dike has already shown he can be productive as a receiver, recording 423 receiving yards and four touchdowns. We already know how good a returner he is, but I think people are sleeping on him as a viable option in the slot going forward.

At the moment, it may be hard to see Dike as this team's future slot receiver, and why wouldn't it be with Robinson in place? Robinson is only 25 years old and is under contract for the next few years.

Dike is a great weapon for the Titans to have, not only on special teams, but on offense as well. He is being vastly overlooked because of how much the receiver room has improved.

Don't sleep on the potential for a player like Dike in this Brian Daboll offense, which is going to specialize in quick releases from the quarterback and choice routes.

He is more than just a return specialist and is a player worth watching for the next few years.
