A former Titans RB comparison ignites draft buzz for Jeremiyah Love. Is he the franchise-altering talent the Titans can't afford to miss?
It's become harder to write off the Tennessee Titans selecting Jeremiyah Love with the No. 4 overall pick by the day.
General Manager Mike Borgonzi added to the hype train at the NFL Owners Meetings by stating that the Titans are preparing to take the best players available without accounting for positions.
If neither of the three teams ahead of the Titans takes Love, he could end up in the Music City after that claim from Borgonzi.
What makes things interesting is that Tennessee's running back room is pretty full as it stands. Tony Pollard, Tyjae Spears, Michael Carter, Kalel Mullings, Blake Watson and Julius Chestnut are currently on the roster.
Not all of them will be on the active roster, obviously, but it would be interesting to see where Love would fit in that room.
Before the draft commences in a few weeks, some of the top prospects received NFL comparisons to former players. NFL Draft Files on X had an interesting one for Love, comparing him to a former Titans running back.
Love was compared to former Titans running back DeMarco Murray.
Murray spent just two seasons in Tennessee during the Mike Mularkey era. He was with the team from 2016-17 and was paired well with Derrick Henry in the backfield.
Murray finished with 1,267 rushing yards in his first season with the Titans. His production fell off the following year, and he ended with 659 rushing yards. Henry took over the backfield in 2018 and recorded his first 1,000-yard season.
The comparison isn't too far off.
Murray's athleticism was off the charts. One of his many touchdowns in 2016 involved him jumping over a Minnesota Vikings defender for a touchdown after catching a pass from Marcus Mariota out of the backfield.
Love has proven he can be a threat as a receiver, too. Here's a great catch he made last season against Arkansas.
Do the Titans have a lot of running backs already? Yes.
However, passing up on a player like Love may be a mistake that haunts the franchise for many years to come.
This will obviously all depend on who gets picked before the No. 4 overall pick. The Las Vegas Raiders, New York Jets, and Arizona Cardinals are picks 1, 2, and 3. At the same time, if the Titans stick with their draft strategy, Love could be their guy.
After not being able to average at least 100 rushing yards per game in 2025, the Titans may be able to afford to pass up on a talent like Love.
