New head coach Robert Saleh breaks from past traditions, confirming his entire roster will see action as a crowded quarterback room battles for snaps against San Francisco.

The Tennessee Titans are taking a different approach to the preseason compared to past regimes.

Brian Callahan was the head coach for two preseasons. His philosophy was to play starters, especially Cam Ward.

Ward played in all three preseason games under Callahan last year.

Mike Vrabel had a different approach.

He was normally against playing starters so that other players could get playing time and be evaluated.

Now, the Titans have Robert Saleh as head coach.

Saleh has already made it clear what his plan was for the quarterbacks in the preseason. As it stands, the Titans have four quarterbacks on the roster, and all of them will be playing.

Ward, Mitchell Trubisky, Will Levis and Hendon Hooker are on the 90-man roster.

Saleh was asked about the quarterbacks in May and then again on Tuesday. His answer didn't change from May to August.

One thing that Saleh is changing about the quarterback play is when to rotate others in. Usually, coaches will do it per series.

Saleh didn't want to put a number on how often other quarterbacks would rotate. He did clarify that it wouldn't just be per series, though.

"The plan, I don't want to put a number on it, but it's going to be not just a series," Saleh said.

Before that question, he was asked what the overall plan was for Thursday and whether everyone would be playing.

Saleh simply stated that everyone will see the field.

"Everyone's playing." Saleh said.

This is a much different approach compared to how things were done under Vrabel.

Based on the depth chart we saw on Monday, these are the starters:

On offense, the starting quarterback is Ward. Tony Pollard is the starting running back. Calvin Ridley, Carnell Tate and Wan'Dale Robinson are starting at receiver. Gunnar Helm is TE1.

The starters on the offensive line are Dan Moore Jr., Peter Skoronski, Austin Schlottmann, Cordell Volson, and J.C. Latham.

On defense, the starters are Jeffery Simmons, Jermaine Johnson II, John Franklin-Myers, Jacob Martin, Cody Barton, Cedric Gray, Mohamoud Diabate, Alontae Taylor, Marcus Harris, Cor'Dale Flott, Amani Hooker and Kevin Winston Jr.

The special teams starters include Joey Slye, Tommy Townsend, Morgan Cox and Chimere Dike.

A few injuries may change how the Titans line up. Saleh was hopeful that Jackie Marshall and Franklin-Myers would be back next week, meaning they would definitely miss Thursday's game.

Martin left practice Tuesday with a knee issue, and Flott was held out of practice as a precaution. We'll give you any updates on those players when possible.

The Titans' first preseason game of the year kicks off from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara at 8 p.m. CT on NFL Network.
