A violent collision sparked a joint-practice brawl and left the veteran receiver sidelined. Now, medical evaluations and promising injury updates reveal his status for the preseason finale.
The Tennessee Titans had a scary injury at joint practice with the Chicago Bears on Thursday.
During a play at practice, former Titans safety Xavier Woods delivered a huge hit to receiver Wan'Dale Robinson.
A brawl ensued and Robinson left practice early.
At the press conference after practice, Titans head coach Robert Saleh said Robinson was being evaluated for a concussion and shared his opinion on whether the hit was a dirty play.
His status for Saturday night's game is uncertain, but there was a positive update from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Rapoport reported that Robinson is believed not to have suffered a concussion, which is great news.
Whether or not he'll play in Saturday's game is yet to be seen.
Either way, it's great news for the Titans if so. Having Robinson available for the season opener is of the utmost importance.
The Titans already have one veteran presence in the receiving corps in Calvin Ridley, but he was very inconsistent last year.
Ridley dealt with drop issues throughout all of last season. He proved he wasn't ready to handle the duties of a WR1.
If Robinson were out of the picture with a concussion, the quality of the Titans' receivers would definitely decrease. Carnell Tate has shown flashes in the offseason, but there's inherent value in having Robinson around.
For one, he knows the scheme that Brian Daboll is going to run from his time with the New York Giants. He can help players who are unfamiliar with it on the offensive side of the ball.
It's also never a bad idea to have a crafty veteran like Robinson take the attention off Ridley and Tate when needed.
Ridley was bad last year, but the lack of depth the Titans had at receiver showed. Without another veteran to draw the attention of opposing defenses, Ridley may have struggled again this year as he did in 2025.
Given how serious the injury could've been, the Titans may still want to hold Robinson out of this final game to preserve him for the future.
The Titans haven't been afraid to play starters so far in the preseason. Robinson has played in both games and accounted for four receptions for 31 receiving yards.
We'll have to wait and see what the Titans do with Robinson, but it sounds like they avoided a concussion based on Rapoport's reporting.
The Titans and Bears meet at Nissan Stadium on Saturday to wrap up the preseason at 5 p.m. CT on NFL Network.
