Beyond Jeffery Simmons, league interest intensifies for Tony Pollard, Calvin Ridley, and Alontae Taylor as the Titans navigate growing roster frustrations ahead of the NFL trade deadline.
Teams are going to be calling the Tennessee Titans about some of their best players with the trade deadline rapidly approaching.
Jeffery Simmons has been in the spotlight lately. He was traded to the Chicago Bears on Thursday. The Titans got two first-round picks and a fourth-round pick from the trade. Now that Simmons is gone, who are the other Titans players receiving interest?
Running back Tony Pollard was named a player to watch at the trade deadline by ESPN's Adam Schefter. He just had his best game of the year so far on Sunday, going for 129 rushing yards and three touchdowns in the 27-24 loss to the Cleveland Browns.
Who are the other Titans players who are reportedly getting interest from other teams? That's what ESPN's Turron Davenport helped us figure out on Wednesday.
He shared that Calvin Ridley and Alontae Taylor have also been linked to trade rumors. Ridley didn't play on Sunday but was back at practice on Wednesday.
With Taylor, he hasn't played since Week 5 against the Houston Texans. He was ruled inactive before kickoff and didn't see the field. Robert Saleh later explained that it was a chance to allow Taylor to reset.
The Titans have been figuring out how to get Taylor involved, whether that's at outside cornerback or nickel.
He was available for Sunday's game with the Browns but didn't play then either. Like Simmons, Taylor didn't seem concerned about the possibility of a trade.
"A few other things to add on the trade side of things," Davenport said. "Calvin is a name that has also come up. He didn't practice on Friday, and he wasn't in Sunday's game, but he did return to practice on Wednesday. Alontae Taylor, the cornerback, who didn't take part in Sunday's game, and was inactive the week before. He said he has no concerns about the trade either and his mindset is just to adapt despite the trade rumors and a possible position change from less outside and more nickel."
There has been mounting frustration regarding Ridley and Taylor.
For Ridley, he joined the Titans in 2024 in free agency.
He did well in his first year, recording 1,017 receiving yards and four touchdowns. However, he had issues with drops all last year and then broke his leg, missing the second half of the season.
He has yet to live up to the $92 million contract the Titans are paying him and has taken a restructured deal to stay with the team this year.
After not playing in the last two games, Taylor's situation has frustrated the fanbase as well. The Titans are paying him $58 million, and he went from being a starter to being on the bench.
So, it's natural for people to want Taylor to be traded.
So far, these are the trade rumors involving the Titans that we know of. Simmons was obviously the biggest one, since he is an incredible player.
It seems that Ridley and Taylor have been gaining traction as well. Titans Roundtable will keep you updated on any developments involving the team at the trade deadline.
