Titans secure foundational offensive lineman Peter Skoronski for 2027. His impressive pass-blocking win rate solidifies a key piece for their future.

We're just under a week away from the Tennessee Titans' selections in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Everyone is locked in on who the Titans will take with the No. 4 overall pick, whether that's Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love or a defensive player like Sonny Styles, Rueben Bain Jr., or David Bailey.

Before the Las Vegas Raiders become the first team on the clock on Thursday, there was some breaking Titans news on Saturday.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that Tennessee had decided to pick up left guard Peter Skoronski's fifth-year option. This means Skoronski will make $19.07 million in 2027.

There was a little foreshadowing at ESPN with Skoronski, as Matt Bowen labeled the guard as a good candidate for a fifth-year option earlier this offseason.

Here's what Bowen had to say about it.

"Skoronski's 96.0% pass block win rate ranked fourth among guards, and he has the run-blocking ability to thrive in any scheme," Bowen said. "He could develop into one of the league's blue-chip guards."

Skoronski has been with the Titans since 2023, when they took him 11th overall in that year's draft out of Northwestern. He played offensive tackle in college, but moved over to guard after being drafted by the Titans.

It wasn't the easiest rookie season for him, however.

Skoronski had to learn a new position after playing on the outside of the offensive line for most of his college career. However, he was also forced to miss time due to an emergency appendectomy.

Despite missing valuable time that he could've used to mesh with the rest of the offensive line, he played in 14 games for the Titans in 2023. Skoronski hasn't missed a single game for the team ever since.

After recording a 96% pass block win rate, Skoronski has turned into a formidable guard in the Music City.

The Titans' offensive line will look different in 2026. The team released center Lloyd Cushenberry, and right guard Kevin Zeitler departed the Titans in free agency. This meant that two starters from last year's team were now gone.

Tennessee knew it needed to address those positions in free agency and signed former New York Giants center Austin Schlottmann and former Cincinnati Bengals guard Cordell Volson.

Schlottmann and Volson are expected to start at their respective positions for the Titans this upcoming season.

This move shows a commitment to building around young quarterback Cam Ward. Skoronski's contract doesn't run out until 2028, but the Titans prioritized him and ensured he received the compensation he rightfully deserves.

Ward's best interior offensive lineman is getting the money he's owed.
