Key starters bolster the depth chart as Mitchell Trubisky and John Franklin-Myers dodge serious setbacks, while a fresh backfield signing stabilizes a roster plagued by preseason scares.
What's preseason without its fair share of injury scares?
The Tennessee Titans have had a few so far, but most of them have not been as serious as people initially thought.
There have been a couple of major injuries already, with Jaylen Harrell and Jaren Kanak out for the year. There were injury scares involving Dan Moore Jr. and, most recently, John Franklin-Myers.
Both have since been back at practice, with Franklin-Myers on the field in a limited capacity on Wednesday. Edge rusher Jacob Martin was also seen practicing.
Another injury scare happened earlier this week involving quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. Trubisky left practice on Monday with a bicep injury, which would've made things interesting in the Titans quarterback room for Will Levis and Hendon Hooker.
If Trubisky's injury was more severe, it could've opened the door for Levis to come in and potentially win the backup quarterback job. His position with the team has been uncertain heading into the offseason, but it looks like things will go back to normal for now.
Hooker could've benefitted from it as well. He's probably the most likely cut candidate of the quarterback room and is the favorite to be the practice squad QB if the team keeps him.
Tony Pollard was back as well. The Titans' running back room has been hit with injuries lately. Kalel Mullings is recovering from a hip injury, and Nicholas Singleton practiced in a limited capacity.
The Titans added another player to the running back rotation as well, signing D'Ernest Johnson to a one-year deal, per NFL Analyst Jordan Schultz. He's spent time with the Cleveland Browns (2019-2022), Jacksonville Jaguars (2023-24), Arizona Cardinals (2025) and New England Patriots (2025).
Many Titans players came back, and one more left with an injury, as Keldric Faulk was seen holding his shoulder in pain before trainers checked on him.
Robert Saleh said that the injury may be a stinger after practice.
This opens the door for Truman Jones to earn more playing time. He has been in the mix at edge rusher and got 30 snaps on defense against the San Francisco 49ers. Jones and Faulk both saw the same number of snaps, and Jones has a chance to increase his position on the depth chart.
The Titans will have their joint practice with the Seattle Seahawks on Friday ahead of Sunday's game at Nissan Stadium.
