The Minnesota Vikings appear to be in a solid spot heading into Sunday based on the latest injury report, as they prepare to take on the Indianapolis Colts.
The Minnesota Vikings have been able to surprise many people as they have started the year at 5-0, and in Week 6, they went on their bye, which allowed them to take some time to get players healthy and maybe even add some elements to the playbook they could need moving forward.
Focusing on the health side, the Vikings are in a pretty solid spot when it comes to injuries based on the final Week 7 injury report, as they have very few players in danger of missing Sunday's game.
With that said, let's take a look at the injury report for the Vikings to see who is on track to play and who could potentially miss this Week 7 matchup.
Minnesota Vikings Injury Report:
On Track to Play:
WR Justin Jefferson (ankle)
WR Jordan Addison (hamstring)
OT Brian O'Neil (knee)
OT Christian Darrisaw (concussion/rest)
TE T.J. Hockenson (concussion)
CB Charles Demmings (hamstring)
CB Jason Pierre (foot)
S Harrison Smith (rest)
Questionable:
RB Jordan Mason (thumb)
Game Outlook
After seeing the injury report, it is evident that the Vikings are in a solid spot, as they are on he track to have Jefferson, Addison, Hockenson, O'Neil, Darrisaw, Demmings, Pierre, and Smith on Sunday.
The Vikings could also have Mason back in the lineup for the first time since Week 1, as he fractured his thumb in Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers, was then placed on IR and missed Weeks 2 through 5, and was able to use the bye week in Week 6 to recover as well, and he was able to return to practice this week after being activated from IR.
In terms of how Mason practiced this week, he was actually a full participant on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday which does suggest that he could have a great chance to play depending on how he feels ahead of the game on Sunday.
For the Vikings offense, the return of Mason could be huge as they have struggled to generate explosive plays on offense, and if he does return and at least moves the ball consistently on the ground that could open up the pass game for quarterback Kyler Murray as well as Jefferson, Addison, and Hockenson.
On the Colts side, they are not in a great spot as they have two key players out in cornerback Sauce Gardner and tight end Tyler Warren being out for this as well as a variety of other injuries to manage which could very well give Minnesota a major advantage this week.
So, as the Vikings head into Sunday it will be interesting to see if Mason can return and what he can bring to this offense and if he does play well, it is possible that the Vikings could have one of their better outings of the season thus far which could likely help Minnesota to improve to 6-0.
