12 contestants in each event have advanced to the finals at the Daddy of Em All after roping or riding their way through the quarter-finals and semi-finals. Only one will walk away the champion in each discipline.
After 5 quarterfinals performances, and 3 semi finals, the roster for Championship Round Cheyenne Frontier Days Finals is set. 12 contestants per event will battle it out for the coveted title of the Daddy of Em' All. Any one of them could leave with a career defining win, but on the beaches of Cheyenne, nothing is given. Those 12 cowboys and cowgirls earned their spot here, and now it all comes down to one.
Bareback Riding
The bareback has been wicked tough since the beginning. If these guys were not on their A game they did not advance to the finals today. There are mix of veterans and rookies in this pack.
It is hard to bet against a guy like Kade Sonnier who was 89.5 to win the second semi finals. But the highest marked scores of the week came from Bryce Eck and Trevar McAllister with 91 points to win the first and third semi finals respectively. You also have young gun Kash Loyd in there, who just came back from his senior year at the National High School Finals Rodeo.

The tie down roping in Cheyenne is always so fun to watch because it is not your traditional set up. With a 30 foot score, and walking fresh calves, there are a lot of variables. Sometimes, these guys just don't draw the right calf, and it takes them out of contention. This year, these 12 drew right, and capitlized on the opportunity.
It really is anyone's game because of the draw and the incredible horsepower and talent in this field of guys. Cory Solomon was the fastest of the semi finals with a 10.8. He will be looking to repeat that to become the Cheyenne Champion this year. Kincade Henry is another top man to watch as he sits #2 in the World Standings right now and is looking for a big win to help clsoe to gap between him and World #1, Riley Webb.

Breakaway Roping
Cheyenne Frontier Days was one of the first rodeos to welcome the ladies in the breakaway many years ago. Since, it has grown immensely and has equal money added. Every World Champion breakaway roper to this day has come through Cheyenne one way or another.
Although there are 12 very capable ladies in the finals, the easy pick for the win would be Cheyenne McCartney. McCartney is on fire right now, currently sitting #1 in the WPRA World Standings after a huge Calgary Stampede win. Of course the draw is also a huge deal in this event too. No one knows that better than Jordan Jo Hollabaugh, the very first breakaway champion of the Daddy. Jordan is back for the finals today.

In the team roping, there are a good mix of guys in the top 12 as well. Tyler Tryan and Nicky Northcott might be hard to beat if they draw the right steer and continue the work they have been doing. These young guns are looking to make their first National Finals Rodeo this year, and have a real good chance. They also had the fastest time in the semi finals with a 7.9.

The Saddle Bronc might be one of the most electrifying to watch, especially when you get a group of guys like this in the chutes. Two Wright brothers will climb on today in the finals, Ryder and Statler, who are both World Champions. Mitchell Story is a young gun who is still on his permit, but has been putting on a show since the beginning. He is the reining Mountain States Circuit champion and a hard man to beat on any given day even against the best.

The steer wrestling is another event that can get pretty wild at Frontier Park. When the steers and the horses are moving that fast, it takes some grit to jump and make a run there. These cowboys have done it twice good enough to get their name in the top 12.
Cole Pugh put up the fastest time in the semi finals with a 5.5. Nick Guy won the second semi finals with a 5.6. Tory Johnson was a 5.8 in the third semi finals. These cowboys, and the other 9 will all be going for it on Championship Sunday.

The barrel race has been wicked fast this week. Lisa Lockhart might be the pick of the 12 because not only is she a 19 time NFR qualifier and one of the greatest to ever play the game, she is also the reining and multiple time Cheyenne Frontier Days Champion. Loralee Ward is a Colorado cowgirl who is moving up in the World Standings. Right now she is just outiside of the top 15 trying to make her first NFR appearance this year. A big win in Cheyenne could greatly help her cause.

We have seen some incredible bull rides along the way in Cheyenne. Noah Lee, the 18 year old rookie sensation is sitting number 1 in the World after a huge year including a recent Calgary Stampede title. He was a huge 93 points in the semi finals. He doesn't have it easy to get the win here though today. Hayden Welsh is another rookie that is right behind Noah in the PRCA World Standings, and has been riding incredible. Welsh got the win in Frontier Park earlier this week during the Extreme Bulls event. There is not one man on the list that you can count out, and that should make for a very exciting final round at the Dad.
