The three-time World Champion Tie-Down Roper made every second count in Oklahoma.

The 2026 Woodward Elks Rodeo once again showcased some of the best talent going down the professional rodeo road. For many contestants, a strong showing in Woodward provided not only a paycheck, but valuable momentum as the push toward the 2026 NFR continues.

In bareback riding, Lane McGehee delivered the top ride of the weekend, scoring 86 points aboard Quite Fancy to earn $3,807. Tim O'Connell and Jayco Roper tied for second place with matching 85.5-point rides, while Bradlee Miller’s $1,396 payday helps him get one step closer to first in the world standings while Rocker Steiner recovers from surgery.

Riley Duvall captured the steer wrestling title with a 4.1-second run, edging out Chance Howard and Jacob Edler. Tagg Bond rose to the top of the saddle bronc riding with an 86-point ride aboard Dakota Rodeo's Smoke Show. Past NFR qualifiers Wyatt Casper and Riggin Smith shared second place with matching scores of 85.5 points.

Team roping was one of the most competitive events of the weekend, and featured five separate ties involving 15 teams, including a two-way tie for second, a two-way tie for fourth, a three-way tie for sixth, a four-way tie for 11th, and a four-way tie for 15th. Ultimately, Tanner Tomlinson and Wesley Thorp stopped the clock in 4.6 seconds to secure first place and nearly $4,700 each.

One of the biggest storylines from Woodward came in tie-down roping, where world standings leader Riley Webb continued his dominant season. Webb won the event with a lightning-fast 7.5-second run, collecting $4,829 and further extending his lead atop the world standings. Kincade Henry and Lane Webb rounded out the top three finishers.

John Crimber continues to make headlines in bull riding. He scored an impressive 92.5 points aboard Kippers Ripper to earn more than $5,400. He now sits comfortably inside the Top 10 in the world standings.

Andrea Busby claimed the win in barrel racing with a winning time of 16.82 seconds, narrowly holding off Summer Kosel and Kylie Kanngiesser. In breakaway roping, Josey Murphy stopped the clock in just 2.2 seconds to earn nearly $6,000. Steer roping’s format was a little different, featuring three rounds instead of one. Cole Patterson's consistency paid off as he captured the average title with a total time of 31.6 seconds on three heads.

With outstanding performances across every event, the Woodward Elks Rodeo once again proved why it remains one of the premier stops on the summer run.
