With just a few short weeks left, here are the cowgirls currently on the bubble to qualify for the 2026 NFBR.

The race to the 2026 National Finals Breakaway Roping (NFBR) is getting tighter as the regular season heads into its final month. While the top of the world standings continues to draw plenty of attention, the battle around the No. 15 position is just as exciting. With several competitors, including past World Champions, separated by relatively small amounts of money, one strong weekend could completely change the picture.

Here's a look at the current bubble in the WPRA breakaway roping:

At No. 13, Aspen Miller currently leads the bubble group with $81,921.21 in season earnings. Miller has competed at 57 rodeos this season and has built a solid cushion over the current No. 15-ranked cowgirl. Just behind her is former World Champion Sawyer Gilbert, who sits No. 14 with $81,227.74 after 59 rodeos. Beau Peterson currently holds the final qualifying position at No. 15 with $75,038.42. That puts her just under $6,200 behind Gilbert, but the more important number is the field behind her.

Former NFBR qualifier Maddy Jacobs sits No. 16 with $72,369.89, meaning she's less than $2,700 away from moving into a qualifying position. Bradi Good is No. 17 with $69,329.63, roughly $5,700 behind Peterson. Jill Tanner follows at No. 18 with $65,719.71, while Shelby Boisjoli-Meged sits No. 19 with $64,577.36.

At No. 20, Martha Angelone has earned $61,532.88 and remains within reach of the group ahead of her, though she will need some significant paydays to make up the difference. Both Angelone and Boisjoli-Meged are former Breakaway Roping World Champions, so they have proven they can deliver when the stakes are highest.

While breakaway roping is a little more spread out compared to other bubble races, that doesn’t mean that anyone can be counted out. Bailey Bates’ last-minute NFBR qualification last year proved that the season truly isn’t over until it’s over. She trailed by roughly $19,000 before securing a win at The Governor’s Cup at the end of September – cashing in over $30,000 and catapulting her into the Top 15.

With major rodeos still ahead like the Pendleton Round-Up and The Governor’s Cup, we expect to see these standings shift quite a bit before the September 30 deadline. Be sure to follow Rodeo Roundtable for the latest results and standout stories from the rodeo road!
