Rumours have suggsted thT Bayern Munich seeking to sign the French defender from Barcelona - but he won't come cheap.
Rumours have pointed to Bayern Munich seeking to sign French defender Jules Kounde after the World Cup.
The club would need to negotiate with FC Barcelona to buy the 27-year-old, who has plenty of years left at the top. Transfermarkt indicates his value would be around €60 million (£51 million).
It would be a large outlay for a defender but his consistency at the highest level in Spain has earnt this value. He has won three La Liga titles at the Catalan giants as well as one Copa Del Rey and three Spanish supercups.
REUTERSHowever, Bayern Munich have the financial muscle to complete such a deal if they were interested enough.
Author's Take: Bayern Munich Should Sign Jules Kounde
Kounde would reinforce the team's defensive area as he can play various roles. He would also play alongside his French teammate Dayot Upamecano at Bayern.
While his €60 million value could be high, I hope that Bayern Munich could get him at a lower price if they can offer some player in the deal. I think that right-back is a position they need to reinforce for the future.
Bayern Munich's season is shaping up to be one of the best in recent years and I would love them to replicate the 2020 season - they won absolutely everything that season.
Kompany's project is taking shape and I think they will be the top contender to win the UEFA Champions League. He has built a team with great players and an attractive style, but they must also prove it on the pitch.
