Die Schwarzgelben have their first preseason match before the FIFA World Cup has finished and have four other matches before contesting the DFL Supercup against Bayern Munich on 22 August.
Borussia Dortmund have five preseason matches to get ready for the 2026/2027 Bundesliga. Niko Kovac's side have not won the league since 2012 and will be hoping a fast start to the season could put them in contention.
A long season stretched further by the FIFA World Cup means players could be playing in BVB's first preseason match the day before the final.
While the first preseason game will be a low-key affair, the club's tour of Asia between July and August may offer more exciting matches before two European sides face them before the DFL Supercup at the end of August.

Why have these games been organised?
Cerezo Osaka have been an affiliated club of BVB since January 2026 so playing them as part of an Asian tour is a no-brainer. Former Dortmund player Shinji Kagawa plays for Cerezo after winning the Bundesliga in 2011 and 2012.
The match against Arsenal is part of the Emirates Cup, a one-off friendly match held each year since Arsenal's Emirates Stadium was inaugurated in 2007.
Arsenal Chief Executive Officer, Richard Garlick said: “We look forward to welcoming Borussia Dortmund to Emirates Stadium, which will provide a highly competitive match as we put focus on continued growth and sustained success into next season and beyond."
