It is for this reason that it has been reported that Matías Soulé is open to departing Rome this summer, with the club also open to selling him, however, not for any cut-price deal.
There were reports of a €25-€30 million release clause in Matias Soulé's contract; however, apparently, Fabrizio Romano rubbished these reports on his YouTube channel, but Patrick Berger (SkySportsDE) has stated that there is, in fact, a release clause, valid until June 30th.
This would mean that any club, including Borussia Dortmund, who want to sign Matías Soulé may not have to negotiate a fee with AS Roma for the Argentinian.
But if reports are to be believed, AS Roma may need to sell players like Matías Soulé, among others, in order to comply with FFP regulations and fund their own summer investments.

However, Borussia Dortmund are not the only team interested in Matías Soulé's services next season, with Aston Villa and AFC Bournemouth also reported to be interested in the forward, as they look to add to their attacking options ahead of next season.
