The French winger’s rapid ascent at RB Leipzig has ignited a multi-club pursuit as scouts flock to witness the explosive youngster’s playmaking masterclass in the Bundesliga.
RB Leipzig winger Tidiam Gomis has emerged as a target for Aston Villa, Lazio, and Bayer Leverkusen after making an impressive start to the new season.
Tidiam Gomis spent much of last season waiting for his opportunity. Now, after just two competitive matches of the new campaign, the 20-year-old has given European clubs plenty of reasons to start paying closer attention.
Gomis has started both of Leipzig's competitive fixtures so far and has already registered three assists, underlining the impact he has made since being given a more prominent role by Martín Demichelis.
His first contribution came in the DFB-Pokal against Eintracht Trier, before the Frenchman produced an even stronger display on the Bundesliga stage. Gomis provided two assists in Leipzig's 3-0 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach, helping his side make an emphatic start to the league campaign.
That rapid rise has reportedly attracted the attention of several clubs across Europe.
According to transfer journalist Ekrem Konur, Aston Villa and Lazio have both sent scouts to watch Gomis in person during Leipzig's opening matches. Bayer Leverkusen are also monitoring the winger's development, giving the Frenchman an interesting position in the eyes of clubs from both Germany and abroad.
There have been no negotiations or official offers for Gomis at this stage. The current interest remains centred on scouting, analysis and assessing how the youngster develops over the coming months.
That distinction is important for Leipzig.
The German club signed Gomis from SM Caen for just €1 million in February 2025, and he remains under contract until 2029. With his value now rising alongside his performances, Leipzig are in no immediate rush to consider a sale.
In fact, the club are understood to want Gomis to remain in the squad beyond the winter transfer window. Should concrete interest eventually arrive, however, his development could lead to a valuation of around €20 million.
For Leipzig, Gomis could eventually become another example of the club's ability to turn a relatively modest investment into a major return. But this case is different. The 20-year-old is only now beginning to establish himself as a genuine first-team option, having been trusted in a false No. 9 role at the start of the season. With Marc Guiu, Christopher Nkunku and Rômulo also competing for attacking minutes, however, maintaining a regular place in the side will be his next challenge.
That makes the timing of any potential approach particularly significant.
Gomis has already shown why bigger clubs are taking notice. His acceleration gives him an immediate threat in transition, while his directness and confidence in one-on-one situations allow him to create openings without needing much space. Although Leipzig have increasingly used him centrally, his ability to play from the wing gives him another dimension.
His emergence has also come at an important moment for Leipzig. The club needed greater attacking output, and Gomis has responded quickly, producing two assists in the opening Bundesliga game. It is a small sample, but one that has inevitably raised his profile.
For Aston Villa, Leverkusen, and Lazio, the appeal is clear:
Gomis remains young enough to develop significantly, yet he is already showing qualities that can translate to a higher level. The limited amount of senior football also leaves plenty of room for his value to rise if he continues on his current trajectory.
For now, the youngster is simply attracting more attention with every appearance. The priority for RBL will be to give him the platform to develop and to make sure that, should interest turn into serious offers, they are dealing from a position of strength.
