A grueling seven-match gauntlet across three competitions forces Martín Demichelis to find a winning formula or risk losing his grip on the Red Bull Arena dugout.

October was always going to be an important month for RB Leipzig. Now, with Martín Demichelis already under pressure, it could become decisive.

The Red Bulls face a packed schedule after the international break, with seven matches across three competitions from October 10 onwards. There will be little time to recover, little time to train and, most importantly for Demichelis, very little room for results to go wrong.

Leipzig return to Bundesliga action against Eintracht Frankfurt at the Red Bull Arena. Both clubs have endured inconsistent starts, making the meeting particularly important as they look to regain momentum after the international break.

For Demichelis, however, this is more than simply another league fixture.

Leipzig currently sit ninth after collecting only six points from their opening four Bundesliga matches. The 4-1 Champions League defeat to Como has only increased scrutiny around the Argentine, despite the club publicly maintaining its support for its head coach.

The Frankfurt match therefore arrives at an awkward moment. A positive result could provide some stability before the schedule becomes even more demanding. Another setback would immediately increase the pressure.

Three days later, Die Roten Bullen will play their first Champions League home game of the season against PSV Eindhoven. After losing to Como, the German club needs points in Europe, and the Dutch champions represent another significant test for a team still trying to establish an identity under Demichelis.

Ridle Baku has already admitted that Leipzig are looking forward to facing the biggest opponents again, describing the Champions League nights as something the players earned through their work last season.

But enjoying those nights and surviving them are two different things.

The PSV game begins three consecutive weeks containing midweek fixtures. That means Demichelis will have to manage his squad while simultaneously finding a formula that produces results. There will be opportunities for rotation, but also fewer opportunities to hide weaknesses.

For Leipzig, the congestion could ultimately work in the coach's favour. Seven matches provide plenty of minutes for players to establish themselves and plenty of chances for the team to build momentum.

For Demichelis, it also creates a much harsher test.

If the club starts winning, October could become the month that stabilises his position and changes the mood around the club. If the results continue to disappoint, the sheer volume of high-pressure fixtures could instead accelerate the questions already being asked about his future.

The next few weeks will tell Leipzig much more than their opening four games did.

And Demichelis will have to make them count.
