Midfield could end up being an area to strengthen for Celtic in the summer. Reo Hatate has been linked with a move away for a while now. It is hard to imagine that Paulo Bernardo will be too pleased about his lack of game time either and might seek a move away at the end of the campaign.
Arne Engels has drawn some big offers already. Benjamin Nygren has also been linked with a move away, having scored 19 goals from midfield so far this season. And it remains to be seen if the one-year option in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's deal will be taken or not.
All things considered, we could be looking at a very different Celtic midfield come next season. The club might need to make one or more additions in the middle of the park this summer. Interestingly, a player already in the Scottish Premiership seems to be drawing their interest.
According to The Celtic Way, the Glasgow club are interested in Hibernian midfielder Miguel Chaiwa. They continue to monitor the Zambian international, who has also been linked with Italian side Fiorentina.
Chaiwa will bring something very different to this Celtic team. He offers defensive qualities and box-to-box running. For years, the Hoops have been trying to find a long-term defensive midfielder without much success. Ismaila Soro, Tomoki Iwata, Oliver Abildgaard and a few other names come to mind.
Celtic will need to deal with some Italian competition for his signature though. Serie A has become a hotspot for Scottish Premiership talent in recent times.
Hibernian will know that well, having already sanctioned Kieron Bowie's £6 million move to Hellas Verona in the winter transfer window. Could Chaiwa come close, or even break that record in the summer?
It is also worth mentioning that Celtic have not signed a lot of players from Scottish Premiership rivals in recent times. They have often been linked with them. But rarely have things worked out.
Even in January, Bowie was rumoured to be a transfer target for Celtic, as they needed to strengthen their ranks up top.
Ultimately, it did not end up happening. Bowie moved to Italy. On the other hand, Celtic brought in Tomas Cvancara and Junior Adamu on loan, two out-of-form Bundesliga strikers who have not exactly impressed so far.
It remains to be seen if the club's interest in Chaiwa ever ends up becoming anything concrete. Until then, it is all rumours and speculation.
