Celtic reportedly have a better chance of signing the Champions League striker than Leeds United.

Signing a striker has to be near the top of Celtic's wishlist in the summer. The club have not had a reliable goalscorer since Kyogo Furuhashi left in early 2025. Adam Idah was never able to rediscover the form that he showed while on loan from Norwich City and eventually left to join Swansea City last summer.

Kelechi Iheanacho was signed as a free agent, largely due to his connection with Brendan Rodgers from their time at Leicester City. The Northern Irishman would end up quitting as Celtic manager soon afterwards. On the other hand, the Nigerian international has had an injury-riddled campaign. Celtic have an option to extend his deal by a year but that is unlikely to be taken up.

Tomas Cvancara and Junior Adamu were brought in on loan in the winter. Celtic have an option to buy included in both deals. But neither has shown that they are capable of being the consistent goalscorer that the Hoops need up top.

That means that the Celtic frontline could look very different come next season. It could turn out to be a complete revamp.

One of the most high-profile names Celtic have been linked with in recent months is Kasper Hogh. Unfortunately, a move that did not materialise in the winter.

Hogh would be delighted to have remained at Bodo/Glimt though, as they are enjoying a dream run in the Champions League. The striker himself has been in the form of his life.

He has scored against Manchester City, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, and now, Sporting Lisbon in the last 16 of the competition.

Unsurprisingly, interest is growing in the striker. So, do Celtic still have a realistic chance of signing him?

According to Football Insider, Celtic have a better chance of winning the race to sign Hogh than Leeds United this summer. This is because the striker is said to be hopeful of being able to continue playing Champions League football, whether that be with his current club or elsewhere.

Celtic could still be able to qualify for the Champions League next season. As for Leeds United, that door is closed, as they sit at 15th in the Premier League table and could even end up getting relegated.

But to be very honest, it does not feel like Leeds United are going to be the only competition Celtic have in the race to sign Hogh this summer. Depending on how the rest of Bodo/Glimt's campaign goes, other Champions League teams might come calling for his services.
