Martin O'Neill will be looking to finish this season strong by winning two more trophies. Celtic are very much back in contention for the league after the weekend's results. They are just two points behind Hearts, who might be starting to feel the heat. If the Kilmarnock loss is anything to go by, then Derek McInnes' side might not be great at dealing with it.
In the Scottish Cup, Celtic have reached the semi-finals as well, having beaten Rangers on penalties away at Ibrox in the last round. So, despite the poor season that they have had, the Hoops are still in the running to win a double. A lot of the credit goes to O'Neill, who has gotten the absolute most out of very little.
In the long run, he is not the solution though. O'Neill is 74 years old. And on more than one occasion, he has talked in the media about the kind of exertion coaching has on him these days.
Quite a few managers have been linked with Celtic over the last few weeks. Could a favourite be emerging in that race now?
Earlier, some reports had emerged suggesting that Robbie Keane was the frontrunner for the Celtic job ahead of Jens Berthel Askou and Craig Bellamy.
Now, as reported by FootballTransfers, Keane has given the Glasgow giants the nod to begin talks with him over the post.
Keane saw his side get knocked out of the Europa League recently. They had won 2-0 in the first leg against SC Braga, but the Portuguese side turned the tie around in the second leg, winning 4-0.
Keane has done a very good job wherever he has been as a manager so far in his career, although, he has limited experience in coaching.
The Irishman does have a past connection with Celtic as well as he spent time on loan at the club from Tottenham Hotspur. He scored 16 goals in 19 appearances for the Hoops during that brief stint, winning the club's Player of the Year for his efforts.
Of course, not all Celtic fans would be happy if Keane ends up getting appointed the manager of the club. So, it remains to be seen if a serious push is made for the Irishman or not. He is certainly viewed as one of the primary candidates at the time of writing.
If you ask us, making a move for someone like Kjetil Knutsen would not be a bad idea either, now that Bodo/Glimt are out of the Champions League. But considering how well they did in the competition, quite a few top European clubs might have their eyes on the manager and Celtic's chance to bring him in might have already passed.
