Martin O'Neill must solve one growing problem for Celtic, which was evident in the draw against Rangers.

Celtic FC Roundtable Round-up: Glasgow Derby review, Schmeichel absence explained

Going into the Glasgow Derby at the weekend, neither side would have been particularly content with a draw. But coming out of the Ibrox clash, Celtic will surely be the happier of the two with the result.

In the first half, it had looked like the Rangers were going to run away with the game. They got an early 2-0 lead. Fortunately, Martin O'Neill's side showed their character after the break. Kieran Tierney got them back into the game before Reo Hatate equalised in added time.

Of course, Hearts will be the happiest out of all the teams, as the draw meant both Glasgow teams chasing them in the title race dropped valuable points at the same time. With not many games left, that could prove to be vital.

It is remarkable that Derek McInnes' side actually have a chance of winning the league in March. They deserve immense credit for the job they have done. That being said, it is time for Celtic to prove their mettle and take control of things. If there is one team in Scotland that knows how to get over the finish line, it is the Hoops.

For that to happen, there is one problem that O'Neill will need to solve, and as soon as possible.

Celtic have become a team that constantly makes slow starts and often finds themselves chasing a result at the end. More often than not, they have been successful in getting the late goal. That being said, it would be far more sustainable if they didn't allow matches to get to that point at all.

Of course, the issue for Celtic is that they do not have a reliable goalscorer up top at the moment. Their biggest threat going forward right now is Benjamin Nygren, who has mostly played in midfield.

That has prevented Celtic from making fast starts in games. Instead, they have found themselves trying to break down the opposition for the entirety of matches, and at times succeeding deep into them.

Unfortunately, that cannot be the strategy to win a league title race. Sooner or later, you are going to end up on the wrong side of a result chasing a win, which is exactly what happened against Hibernian last month. Hibs scored in the 87th minute to hand Celtic a 2-1 defeat at Parkhead. Of course, the fact that O'Neill's side were down to ten men did not help matters.
