Martin O'Neill has shared what was said in the Celtic dressing room after their win over the Rangers at Ibrox, in reaction to the scenes at full-time.

Celtic FC Roundtable Round-up: Glasgow Derby, interest in Chaiwa and former Liverpool centre-back, talks to sign Saracchi, Nygren's future

It would be an understatement to say that things got a bit out of hand at Ibrox after Celtic's win over the Rangers in the Scottish Cup. The home team could not get the job done once again, missing twice from the spot, while the Hoops were perfect to go through to the next round of the competition.

The result leaves the Rangers staring at potentially another trophyless campaign. On the other hand, it should give Celtic a much-needed confidence booster, as they look to finish the season strong, hopefully, with two trophies.

After Tomas Cvancara scored the winning penalty, a number of Celtic fans managed to get onto the Ibrox pitch to celebrate with the players. Of course, while that should not happen, it is not a rare sight in Scotland in these circumstances.

What definitely did not need to happen though is Rangers fans getting onto the pitch as well. Let's just say there were some ugly scenes at full-time, and both clubs can expect a fine in the near future. The Ibrox club's one might, and should be, a lot bigger.

One would imagine that not many, if any, of the players would have been a part of a post-match like this in the past. So, what was discussed in the dressing room in the aftermath?

Well, it looks like there was no such discussion amongst the Celtic players after the match. At least not with Martin O'Neill present.

According to The Celtic Way, when asked if the players said anything about it in the dressing room afterwards, O'Neill replied:

"No, no. I just said well done to the team and I went into my own little room to cool down myself. My heart's beating at a rate that a 74-year-old's shouldn't be doing.

"I didn't hear them saying, but we'll certainly have a chat about it."

We have a feeling that this is not the end of this story. We will hear a lot more about it in the coming days and weeks. For now, if you are a Celtic fan, it is important to celebrate this Glasgow Derby win.

Of course, it would have been a lot better to get the job done in regulation time, or even in extra-time. The performance left a lot to be desired as well, and the Hoops were on the back foot for the majority of the contest. It will need to improve in the future.

That being said, you can never complain about winning a Glasgow Derby. Celtic played twice at Ibrox in the space of a week and did not lose. So, let's enjoy it now, and we can dissect the game in the future.
