A few Rangers fans made a brutally honest admission after losing to Celtic again, and getting knocked out of the Scottish Cup.

Celtic FC Roundtable Round-up: Glasgow Derby, interest in Chaiwa and former Liverpool centre-back, talks to sign Saracchi, Nygren's future

By the time Tomas Cvancara put away the winning penalty and celebrated in front of the Rangers fans, they must have already been feeling a sense of deja vu. The past week could have very well have been a banana peel for Celtic. They had two away games at Ibrox, in the league and the Scottish Cup, with an away trip to Aberdeen sandwiched in between.

Coming out of it, Celtic will be quite satisfied. Once again, the performances were nothing to write home about. But they cannot complain about the results.

They came back from two goals down to draw against Rangers at Ibrox last weekend. That was followed by a 2-1 win against Aberdeen in midweek. And even though it took penalties, the Hoops had enough in the tank to get past Danny Rohl's side in their own backyard to book their place in the next round of the Scottish Cup.

As a result, the Rangers now find themselves staring at the possibility of another trophyless campaign. Also, they might not be headed anywhere promising with Rohl as head coach. And some of their fans might be starting to come to grips with that fact.

As one Rangers fan wrote on a fan forum following their Scottish Cup exit at the hands of Celtic: "Schooled twice now by a guy in his 70s, no style of play, can’t win away from home. He has been backed plenty it isn’t good enough."

Another said regarding Rohl: "He’s did what you would expect from an inexperienced manager. Won some games, lost some games, very inconsistent and collapses at the big events."

Well, the Rangers have been constantly hanging managers for years now. Since Steven Gerrard left for Aston Villa, after winning one trophy in three-and-a-half years in the Ibrox hot seat, nobody has managed to settle in the job.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst showed early promise, even taking them to the Europa League final, before fizzling away. Mick Beale was not the man for the job. Neither was Philippe Clement. And Russell Martin had a terrible 123-day run at Ibrox before being sacked. Now, it looks like their supporters are starting to give up on Rohl as well.

As for Celtic, they will have their own managerial decision to make in the summer. O'Neill's run as interim manager ends after the season, and at 74 years of age, he is not expected to continue on in the job beyond that point.

Roberto Martinez and Jens Berthel Askou are rumoured to be the two frontrunners for the Parkhead post. Will Rohl survive in the Ibrox hot seat until then? Or is he on borrowed time already?
