Celtic have been urged to sign the loan player on a permanent basis after his impressive performances for the club.

Celtic's winning run continued this weekend with a comeback, 3-2 win over Kilmarnock away at Rugby Park, courtesy of a 97th-minute winner from Julian Araujo. Martin O'Neill might not have been particularly pleased with the performance but nobody can question this team's willingness to go out and get wins, even when they are nowhere near their best.

It becomes even more impressive when you consider that a large part of the squad is built with loan players. Celtic completed five loan signings in the winter window, adding them to what was already in place.

Oftentimes, it is not easy to get the most out of players on short-term loan deals, largely because their long-term future is uncertain. It would be safe to say that the majority of the loanees won't be at Celtic Park come next season.

Yet, a number of them do seem to care deeply about the club already, as proven by Araujo's celebration with the supporters after scoring the winner at Rugby Park this weekend.

One loanee Celtic have been urged to keep is Marcelo Saracchi. Brought in from Boca Juniors in the summer, he has done very well when given a chance, although he has had his injury problems along the way as well.

Due to Kieran Tierney's long injury history, the club were always going to need a reliable backup option. Saracchi has filled that role quite well. In fact, it looks like many believe that he should be handed the spot on a permanent basis.

While speaking on PLZ Soccer, Tam McManus said about Saracchi: "I think if you are Celtic you are looking at him, you are going ‘we want to sign him longer term’ because I think he has been a really, really good signing."

Saracchi has most certainly been a really good signing for Celtic. When fit, he has remained involved in the first-team picture, whether it be as a starter or as a substitute, despite the presence of Tierney, which just goes to show how highly he is regarded at Parkhead already.

Sarachchi only came on as a substitute this weekend, but that was during a time when Celtic needed to go out and find a winner. So, he is being trusted to deliver in those situations.

In Celtic's previous outing before this, Sarachchi started and scored against Livingston. So, overall, he is doing the best out of whatever role he is being handed.

So, it would be a bit of a no-brainer on the part of Celtic to try and sign him on a permanent basis in the summer window. The belief is that the club do not have an option to buy in the deal. So, they will need to go out and agree on a fee with Boca Juniors.
