Video has emerged of Julian Araujo's taunt at Rangers fans while heading up the tunnel at Ibrox following the Hoops' Scottish Cup win.

Celtic FC Roundtable Round-up: Review of Derby Win over Rangers and the Aftermath

One complaint that many Celtic fans have about this current team is that they do not feel a genuine connection with a large part of the squad. And that is understandable. A number of them are only on loan until the end of the season. Then there are some who have barely featured.

Julian Araujo was the only signing the club made while Wilfried Nancy was their manager. He is on loan from Bournemouth until the end of the season.

It would be safe to say though that Araujo has had no trouble endearing himself to the Celtic fans, despite only being at Parkhead on a short-term loan deal.

Why Araujo has quickly become so popular amongst the Celtic faithful should be clear from his recent outing at Ibrox. He was involved in the feisty contest throughout. And then, when the Hoops came through on penalties, he was the first to turn around and celebrate with the supporters.

Of course, it is the incidents at full-time, after Celtic's win, that grabbed most of the headlines, as both sets of supporters ended up on the pitch and there were some 'ugly' scenes.

Now, a video has emerged of him taunting Rangers fans while going up the tunnel, sticking out his tongue and pointing at the Celtic badge, while teammates behind him seemed amused.

The video of the incident was posted on X by CeltsAreHere:

Araujo certainly seems like one of the players who gets 'it'. And there are already calls from the supporters for him to be signed on a permanent basis.

Such a move would make sense for all parties as well. Araujo was not playing at all for Bournemouth and made just one appearance in the first half of the season.

In contrast, he has established himself as a regular starter for Celtic. And he is clearly enjoying life at Parkhead. Even the rivalry with the Rangers.

Of course, the competition for places will grow significantly when Alistair Johnston returns from his injury. That being said, considering the Candian's fitness record in recent times, the Hoops definitely need someone like Araujo around, even when he becomes available.

Ultimately, any permanent move would come down to what kind of transfer fee Bournemouth would want to part ways with Araujo on a permanent basis. They paid around £8.5 million to sign him from Barcelona. He was not able to make an impression in the Premier League though and they might have a tough time recouping the figure.

If the Cherries are willing to let Araujo leave for around half of that figure, it would be a no-brainer of a move for Celtic. Let's see what the future holds.
