With departures inevitable, Leeds United eyes a veteran forward to bolster the squad amid squad clear-outs.

As the winter transfer window is right around the corner, Chelsea would look to improve their weak areas by bringing in new recruits in January. Alongside reinforcements, a few players are reportedly looking for new opportunities, as chances are hard to come by in the current squad.

The Blues will eventually have to let some of them go, whether on loan or a permanent deal, as they need to free up space for the new signings.

Tyrique George is one of those players who want to explore other avenues due to a lack of game time, and Chelsea could be open to hearing loan offers in January. The player is definitely not an out-and-out starter for Maresca but has the quality to become a future star.

Another player is Raheem Sterling, who failed to feature for the Blues this season and currently has no minutes under his belt.

The former Manchester City winger was loaned out to Arsenal last season, but was unable to make an impact with the Gunners. As a result, clubs were hesitant to sign the 31-year-old last summer.

Now, according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown (Via Football Insider), Sterling will be on the move during the upcoming transfer window as the Blues would be looking to free up space and also cut down on the wages bill for fresh faces to come in.

The veteran English football expert talked about Sterling's situation, saying, “It’s inevitable Sterling will leave Chelsea. When was the last time he played for Chelsea? He hasn’t been involved at all this season, and he’s not a part of the manager’s plans there.

"If he moves on, it will free up space in the squad for new players to come in, and I hear that’s something Chelsea will be looking at if somebody comes in for him."

Brown also spoke about Leeds United's interest in signing the experienced forward, as they currently sit just outside the relegation zone in 17th position in the Premier League table and are willing to take a gamble on Sterling despite the player having been involved in professional football for months now.

As Chelsea looks to make way for new signings, Sterling could become Leeds' much-needed solution for their struggling attacking line-up as the negotiations get underway.
