West Ham’s struggles have forced action in January. Unhappy with their goalkeepers and desperate for stability, the Hammers have turned to Chelsea’s Filip Jörgensen—a £20m signing yet to cement his place at Stamford Bridge.
Struggling for form and defensive solidity, West Ham United has been compelled to enter the January transfer market in search of solutions. The club has identified the goalkeeper as a priority position and is now targeting a move for an expensive option from a London rival.
And due to it, they are looking to the January transfer market in order to get the right players in order to improve the team and achieve their goal for this season. And one part of their team that is looking to improve is the goal, and they are searching for a new goalkeeper.
West Ham Targets Chelsea's Filip Jörgensen in £20m Goalkeeper Move
So, based on the rumors, West Ham is interested in signing the Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jörgensen. He arrived at Chelsea in the summer of 2024 from Villarreal for a fee of 20 million pounds. Since his arrival, Jorgensen hasn’t been the first-choice keeper for Chelsea because Maresca and now Rosenior have chosen Sanchez as the first-choice keeper for the Blues.
Nuno Espirito Santo isn’t happy with the performances of his 3 keepers, Fabianski, Areola, and Hermansen, and sees Filip as a choice who can give the team the necessary safety on the goal in this second part of the season.
The clubs have initiated a discussion between them about the goalkeeper, and it needs to be seen if the negotiations will be positive and Jörgensen will become a new goalkeeper of West Ham, or he will remain at Chelsea to fight for his place in the starting eleven of the Blues under the new coach Rosenior.
