Will Ajax win the Eredivisie this season?More Videos

Ajax have had a solid start to their 2026/27 campaign. The Amsterdammers qualified for the league phase of the UEFA Conference League after winning three qualifying rounds and currently sit 5th in the Eredivisie with 14 points from seven games.

Michel Sanchez's side has scored an impressive 43 goals in 13 games so far this season in all competitions, but has looked defensively vulnerable at times.

After the international break, Ajax return to action with a home fixture against NEC Nijmegen. After that, Ajax will travel to Croatia to play Hajduk Split in their first game of the UEFA Conference League league phase.

After returning from Croatia, Ajax will then travel to the north of the Netherlands to play FC Groningen in the Euroborg.

Below is a round-up of the latest Ajax injury news as Michel and his team prepare to return to action next weekend.

Aaron Bouwman

After the international break, it is expected that Aaron Bouwman will return to action. The defender suffered an injury against PSV Eindhoven and was ruled out of the games against Fortuna Sittard, Willem II and Excelsior.

In a video posted by Ajax, Bouwman was asked if he had recovered well from the injury, to which he replied: "Yes, definitely".

Daley Blind

Another Ajax player who has been dealing with an injury is Daley Blind. The 36-year-old has not played since 13 August in Ajax's away fixture against FC Shelbourne, which ended in a 2-2 draw, with Ajax winning the tie on aggregate.

On the Kale & Kokkie podcast, Hedwiges Maduro provided an update on Blind's situation.

"It seems to have something to do with a nerve. That is always tricky," Maduro said

"I think Berghuis had trouble with that for a while too. I hope it’s nothing serious."

Lawrence de Munck also said during the podcast the Blind's injury is a recurring issue.

"That back injury of his is something that has been going on for much longer. That is a recurring issue, not something from the last few weeks," De Munck said.

Kasper Dolberg

Kasper Dolberg found form before the international break, registering two goals and three assists in Ajax's last three games. He was called up to the Danish national team for their fixtures against Norway, Wales and Portugal, but had to withdraw from the squad with an injury.

Speaking to the press, Denmark manager Brian Riemer said that one player had 'completely dislocated his knee'. According to the Danish press, Riemer was referring to Dolberg.

It is unclear exactly how long Dolberg will be out for, but the Danish FA confirmed that Dolberg suffered a knee injury and will be sidelined for an extended period.

Simon Adingra

Simon Adingra joined Ajax on loan from Sunderland on deadline day, but has not yet featured for Ajax due to an injury. The injury was reportedly not serious, and Adingra was seen on the training field in a video Ajax posted on X.
