Two European giants had a concrete interest in signing Mika Godts.

PSG want Mika Godts!More Videos

Ajax could lose Mika Godts before the transfer window closes, with Paris Saint-Germain working on a deal to sign the Belgian winger.

The Parisians have reached an agreement with Godts over a long-term contract at the Parc des Princes, but there is still a gap in valuation between the two clubs over a transfer fee.

Super agent Jorge Mendes is negotiating on Ajax's behalf, as Jordi Cruijff looks to extract the maximum amount of money from a potential deal.

PSG's opening bid was worth €45 million, but that was swiftly rejected by Ajax. They are now preparing a second bid, which is expected to be worth in the region of €55 million, including bonuses. Ajax are said to want a fee of more than €60 million. That means that there is still a difference, but an agreement seems to be drawing closer.

Despite the ongoing transfer talks, Godts played for Ajax on Thursday night against Shelbourne FC, scoring a penalty. If there is no breakthrough in negotiations before the Eredivisie season-opener against PEC Zwolle, Godts will likely play in that too.

Barca and Bayern were interested

In addition to PSG, Barcelona and Bayern Munich were also considered for a move for Godts.

According to Mike Verweij, speaking on the Kick-off, Bayern Munich and Barcelona also had concrete interest in the Ajax winger.

Bayern Munich ultimately signed Ismael Saibari from Ajax's rivals PSV Eindhoven, and they have now also confirmed that they will not be signing anyone else this summer.

Barcelona’s technical director Deco visited the Johan Cruijff ArenA multiple times to take a look at Godts. In the end, Barcelona decided to sign Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United in a deal worth more than €80 million.

Are there any other clubs interested in Godts?

There are said to be many clubs monitoring Godts' ongoing situation, although PSG are the only club known to be in concrete talks to sign the winger.

Liverpool have been linked to Godts and are in the market for a left winger. They are working on a deal to sign Bradley Barcola from PSG, although PSG's valuation of €170 million is proving to be a stumbling block in negotiations.

Tottenham have also been linked to Godts. They are also in the market for attackers and have been linked to Liverpool's Cody Gakpo.

If PSG do not agree a deal for Godts quickly, both Liverpool and Spurs could potentially turn their attention to Godts if they fail to land their top targets.
