Esmir Bajraktarevic played a key role for Bosnia and Herzegovina on Monday evening as they secured an impressive 4-2 victory over Romania in Bucharest.

The PSV winger provided two assists, helping his side claim an important Nations League win. PSV teammate Dennis Man was absent for Romania after scoring against Sweden last Friday.

Bajraktarevic’s performance attracted widespread praise in the Bosnian media, as recognition of his contribution replaced the previous criticism.

“Bajraktarevic was one of the standouts in the second round of the Nations League, in which Bosnia and Herzegovina defeated Romania 4-2 in Bucharest. Bajraktarevic finished the match with two assists, thereby confirming his excellent form,” Sportske reported.

SportSport was equally impressed. “After a beautiful run, Bajraktarevic once again provided an assist, and this time the goal was scored by Mahmic. Bajraktarevic showed his magic,” the outlet wrote.

Croatian outlet Sportske Novosti also singled him out, describing Bajraktarevic and Alajbegovic as “the two youngest and biggest stars” of the Bosnia and Herzegovina team.
