Isaac Babadi Sends Clear Message After PSV Loan Move

Isaac Babadi believes he still has plenty to show after making an encouraging start to life on loan at Sparta Rotterdam, three years after making his PSV first-team debut.
Babadi made his first start for PSV in the Johan Cruyff Shield victory over Feyenoord in August 2023 before scoring in the Champions League qualifying round against Sturm Graz. His early performances raised expectations, but a subsequent loan spell at Royal Antwerp proved less successful.
Now at Sparta, the midfielder is gaining regular playing time under Rogier Meijer. He provided two assists in last weekend’s 3-3 draw with Go Ahead Eagles, earning praise from former footballer Gerrie Mühren.
“Much is expected of Isaac Babadi. The move from PSV to Sparta seems like it will work out well. Now that he plays every week, he develops quickly,” Mühren wrote in De Telegraaf, highlighting Babadi’s pace and vision.
Babadi, however, believes his best football is still ahead of him.
“I haven’t reached my peak yet, you haven’t seen much of me yet. It’s up to me to let it all out once!” he told Voetbal International, as relayed by PSV Inside.
Meijer has given him a free role, allowing him to move between midfield and the wings. Babadi says the freedom makes him harder to defend against and praised teammate Bas Kuipers for helping create space through their developing partnership.
