Ruben van Bommel’s late brilliance rescued the Netherlands, while Paul Wanner ignited an Austrian comeback, highlighting a busy week of international success and injury scares for PSV.
The international break is well underway, with several PSV players already appearing for their respective national teams.
Ruben van Bommel produced one of the highlights for the Netherlands, while Paul Wanner also made his mark for Austria. Armando Obispo, Kodai Sano, Filip Kostić and Noah Fernandez were among the other PSV players to see action.
Van Bommel provides assist for Oranje
The Netherlands drew 1-1 with Germany in the UEFA Nations League on Thursday, with two PSV players featuring from the bench.
Guus Til was introduced as a substitute, while Van Bommel also came on in the second half. The PSV winger had a strong influence in the closing stages.
Van Bommel produced an excellent cross from the right, picking out Cody Gakpo, who finished to secure a late equaliser for Oranje.
Lutsharel Geertruida was part of the Netherlands squad but did not make an appearance. It has been confirmed by the club that he is leaving the Dutch national team squad due to a minor injury. No replacement will be called up for the PSV defender.
Obispo involved in Curaçao comeback
Armando Obispo played the full 90 minutes for Curaçao against Costa Rica in the CONCACAF Nations League.
Curaçao appeared to be heading for defeat after falling 3-0 behind in the 61st minute. However, the Blue Wave produced a remarkable turnaround, scoring four times in 20 minutes to complete a 4-3 victory.
Obispo was on the pitch throughout the comeback.

Japan secured a 3-1 victory, giving Sano valuable international minutes during the break.
Wanner makes an impact for Austria
Paul Wanner came off the bench for Austria against Israel and played a part in their late surge.
The match was level before Austria took control in the closing stages, eventually winning 3-1. Wanner provided an assist during the late comeback, while former PSV defender Phillipp Mwene was also on the scoresheet.

Filip Kostić started for Serbia against Greece in the UEFA Nations League.
Serbia were unable to take anything from the game, losing 2-1. The fixture is part of the same Nations League group as the Netherlands.
Fernandez features for Belgium U21
Noah Fernandez came off the bench in the 78th minute as Belgium Under-21s defeated Belarus 1-0 in their European Championship qualifying campaign.
The PSV youngster therefore added another appearance to his international experience as Belgium secured a decisive victory.
With more fixtures still to come during the international break, PSV will continue to monitor the workload and fitness of their players before the Eredivisie returns.
