PSV Eindhoven have made preliminary enquiries about OH Leuven right-back Davis Opoku, with the 18-year-old only emerging as a potential target if Sergiño Dest leaves the club this summer.
PSV Eindhoven have begun exploring the conditions surrounding Davis Opoku as the Dutch champions consider their options at right-back.
According to transfer journalist Sacha Tavolieri, PSV have made an initial enquiry about the 18-year-old defender, who currently plays for Oud-Heverlee Leuven.
The interest remains at an early stage, however, with no concrete negotiations taking place.
Tavolieri reported that PSV's enquiry is primarily designed to establish the conditions surrounding a possible transfer, with the club only expected to pursue Opoku seriously if Sergiño Dest leaves Eindhoven.
The situation surrounding Dest remains uncertain. The United States international is under contract with PSV until mid-2028, with a reported release clause of €23 million.
Despite potential interest from elsewhere, PSV have indicated that they currently have no need to sell the right-back during the transfer window. The club remains satisfied with Dest's development and his sporting value to Peter Bosz's squad.
Dest's absence from PSV's Johan Cruijff Shield defeat by AZ Alkmaar was also unrelated to transfer speculation. The defender joined pre-season preparations later than some of his teammates after representing the United States at the World Cup and was not considered fully match-fit for the season opener.
Dest was a regular for the US at the tournament before their campaign ended with a round-of-16 defeat by Belgium.

The young Belgian has also attracted attention from Feyenoord, with Tavolieri previously identifying him as one of the club's leading candidates to replace Givairo Read should Read leave De Kuip this summer.
Opoku enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with OH Leuven last season, making 30 official appearances and registering five assists.
His performances have also earned him recognition at an international level, with the right-back representing several Belgian youth teams.
For now, PSV's interest remains firmly in the monitoring phase. The Eindhoven club is assessing the market without indicating that Dest's departure is imminent.
Opoku, therefore, is one to watch, but any serious move will depend heavily on what happens with Dest before the transfer window closes.
