Federico Chiesa has struggled for minutes since his move to Liverpool in 2024.
When Federico Chiesa moved to Liverpool in August 2024, many Liverpool fans were excited about the prospect of the Italy international joining the club, but his time in Merseyside has been quite the challenge.
Last term, Chiesa started just one match in the Premier League, despite appearing in 26 matches in the competition. It was a similar story in 2024/25, with just one start and six appearances in England's top flight.
With Andoni Iraola now officially appointed as the Liverpool boss, Chiesa may finally have a chance to start matches and play an important role, especially given that Mohammed Salah has left Liverpool, too.
However, it seems Chiesa is open to a move away from Anfield if it means he is going to be playing regularly.
"I want to play regularly," said the 28-year-old. "If I don’t find continuity in the Premier League, I have to look elsewhere.”
He continued to explain that he would join up with Liverpool's pre-season squad in the United States of America, his love for Juventus, and on Curtis Jones' links with Serie A.
In truth, Chiesa would likely benefit from a move away - for a fresh start if nothing else. Andoni Iraola will have to prove he is willing to trust the Italian, unlike his predecessor, Arne Slot.
