On Monday afternoon (the 2nd of November, 2026), it was officially confirmed by FIFPro that as many as four different first team Real Madrid men's players have been nominated for the 2026 World 11.
Although it has not been the 2026 that anyone associated with Real Madrid would have wanted, with a second consecutive failure to win La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the UEFA Champions League, a number of players have had very good years on an individual level.
None more so than the quartet of Thibaut Courtois, Marc Cucurella, Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe. All four players have been nominated by FIFPro for the 2026 men's World 11.
Now, it is worth mentioning that the majority of Cucurella's body of work this year has been with Chelsea and the Spain national team, where he played every single minute of their successful World Cup campaign in North America last summer.
But all three of the others have been nominated for their work with Real Madrid and their respective national teams. Particularly the latter two, whom had historical World Cup campaigns. Bellingham became the first ever English player to score seven goals in one World Cup campaign, whilst Kylian Mbappe scored 10 goals and in the process became the tournament's all time leading goalscorer.
Sadly for Courtois, injuries were in a way his and his teams undoing. He missed the Champions League quarter-final clash with Bayern Munich, where stand in Andriy Lunin was questionable for two of the goals scored by Bayern. He then had to be substituted in Belgium's World Cup quarter final clash with Spain, where his deputy Senne Lammens made a costly mistake at the end of the game to send the Red Devils packing.
However, when he was available, he was mostly at his absolutely imperious best for both sides. He has been listed alongside Emi Martinez (Aston Villa, Chelsea, Argentina), and David Raya (Arsenal, Spain) as the goalkeepers nominated.
Meanwhile, Bellingham is nominated alongside fellow midfielders; Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United, Portugal), Enzo Fernandez (Chelsea, Manchester City, Argentina), Pedri (Barcelona, Spain), Declan Rice (Arsenal, England), and Vitinha (Portugal, PSG).
As for Mbappe, he joins fellow attacker nominees; Erling Haaland (Manchester City, Norway), Harry Kane (Bayern, England), Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (PSG, Georgia), Lionel Messi (Inter Miami, Argentina), Michael Olise (Bayern, France), Real Madrid legend Cristiano Ronaldo (Al Nassr, Portugal), and Lamine Yamal (Barcelona, Spain).
We will let you know if and when there are Real Madrid players who make the final XI, as soon as it is officially announced to the public. As always, stay tuned here at Roundtable for all the latest updates.
