According to several, high level reports, all hell has broken loose in Real Madrid training as the soap opera and circus of the 25/26 season reaches new heights
Just when you thought things couldn't possibly get any worse for Real Madrid, they do.
The famous quote of Mick McCarthy when asked: "It can't go on like this, can it? Where he responded with "it can!" feels very apt.
Indeed, as it being reported by various sources, including RMCSport, that midfielders Aurlien Tchouameni had a serious physical fight in training today, after a verbal fight yesterday.
According to RMCSport, this is the full scale of what happened over the last two days. On Wednesday, Tchouameni put in a hard tackle on Valverde, which he did not like at all. Although the Frenchman insisted he did not do it on purpose, Valverde did not accept his apology.
Afterwards (still on Wednesday), the Uruguayan kept trying to retaliate by tackling Tchouameni "very hard". Then, at the end of the session, they had the aforementioned verbal fight.
Now, onto today (Thursday). At the start of training, Valverde refused to shake Tchouameni's hand. As soon as the session started, he tackled Tchouameni so hard that he lifted him off the floor.
Then, Alvaro Arbeloa tried to solve the situation by putting them on the same team, but this did not work - they kept fighting. Then, after training, in the dressing room, they started physically fighting, with other players trying to physically separate them.
Meanwhile, Valverde then fell to the floor, split his head open and laid unconscious, and was taken to hospital with Arbeloa at his side. The club have decided to punish them both. There you go, that is the full report from RMCSport.
Additionally, Jose Felix Diaz is reporting that neither player will play in El Clasico on Sunday, with the club considering separating them from the rest of the team. Diario AS are reporting that Valverde accused Tchouameni of leaking what happened yesterday to the press, before the latter then threw a punch which left Valverde unconscious and with his head split open.
Finally, Abraham P Romero reports that the two players have not had a good relationship for a while, and this is nothing new. He also reports that both players will be sidelined by the club for an undetermined period of time.
Wow, what can you say. What a complete and utter mess of a season. It's all just one big circus. Last season was a difficult campaign for the club on the pitch, but at least there was nothing like this off it. What a shambles. All that needs to be done now is the humiliation of watching Barcelona win the league on Sunday, to cap off perhaps the worst season ever.
