Real Madrid will now have to play their final league games without two of their top stars as injuries sideline the duo for the rest of the season.

Despite being nine points adrift of league leaders Barcelona in the La Liga table, Real Madrid were still hopeful of a miracle during the final few games of the ongoing campaign.

Now, as it seems, their hopes have been dashed with the latest updates of two of their top performers, as Arda Guler and Eder Militao are now likely to miss the remainder of the season due to their respective injuries.

Los Blancos released an official statement regarding both of their key players, as the report suggests Guler picked up a biceps femoris injury in his right leg, whereas Militao sustained a muscle injury in the biceps femoris of his left leg.

And according to Diario AS (h/t GOAL), Madrid won't push the recovery process for their players with only six games left to play this season, and they also wouldn't risk their chances of playing in the World Cup, which is only a couple of months away now.

Eder Militao only returned from his previous injury at the start of this month against Mallorca, where he scored Los Blancos' only goal during their 2-1 loss at the Iberostar Stadium on April 4.

Since his return, the Brazilian defender looked to have breathed new life into the underperforming Los Blancos defense, providing Alvaro Arbeloa with much-needed squad depth during those tough stretches of games, which now would pose a major problem for the manager to fix with Militao out for the rest of the campaign.

On the other hand, Guler has featured in every single match for the Whites this season up until now, and the Turkish midfielder has been amongst the few Madrid players who have performed consistently throughout the current campaign.

During the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final clash against Bayern Munich, the 21-year-old was a constant threat to the Bayern defenders, scoring a brace on the occasion, but to no avail, as the Bavarians won the tie 6-4 on aggregate over the two legs.

Los Blancos would now have to play three away fixtures in a row, the third being the El Clasico at Camp Nou, and Arbeloa would need to devise a plan quickly to replace one of his most-used players if the Whites are to finish the season strongly.

As it seems, options are plenty for the Spanish manager as players like Thiago Pitarch, Eduardo Camavinga, and Dani Ceballos are already in line to replace Arda Guler in the starting lineup, but as for the replacement of Militao, Madrid would again have to look towards Antonio Rudiger and a recently recovered Raul Asencio for the last six games left to play this season.
